Restoring Dignity & Control After An Injury

Head-on motor vehicle accidents often result in fatalities

On Behalf of | Dec 11, 2019 | Motor Vehicle Accidents |

Illinois investigators are still working to determine what or who may have caused a recent collision. When rescue workers arrived at the scene, they immediately noticed that both vehicles had sustained a lot of front end damage. Sadly, as in this case, motor vehicle accidents that occur head-on often result in fatalities.

A 20-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the two-vehicle crash. She had been behind the wheel of one of the cars when a collision occurred just after 2:30 p.m. on a recent Tuesday. There were two occupants in the other vehicle, both of whom suffered life-threatening injuries. The two, a woman and a man, ages 48 and 45 respectively, were transported to a nearby hospital but no further information was provided regarding their conditions.

There are often a lot of unanswered questions in the aftermath of a serious motor vehicle collision. Investigators must determine if any particular factors may have caused an incident to occur. Such issues often include speeding, distracted driving and/ a drunk driver. The sheriff’s department has not yet released any of its findings in the recent fatal accident.

More than the victims themselves are affected by motor vehicle accidents. The friends, family members and co-workers of Illinois accident victims often grieve together and try to support one another when tragedy strikes. Experienced attorneys often provide support as well, especially in cases where a recovering victim or immediate family member of a deceased victim plans to pursue recovery of monetary damages in civil court.
